Recipe's at the ready, our next Witham on the Hill Safari Supper is on the menu and will be taking place on Saturday 13th June.
As a reminder, we can only work with multiples of 3 couples, 12 being the optimum. Securing your place is on a first come, first served basis. If you wish to take part, please click on this link.
For those who have not enjoyed this evening before, here is how it works:
- We all (or at least one from each couple) meet at the Parish Hall to start the evening off. Over a drink, each couple will be given an envelope. The envelope will tell them where they are to go for their starter course. The envelope will also have a “Open not before” time. This is the time that you will open your envelope to inform you and your guests where you will all go for your next course.
- Each couple will prepare one course for themselves plus 2 other couples.
- Each couple will move to a different house in the village for each course.
- You will not dine with the same couples again that evening.
- Your course and your guest couples are allocated at random.
- You will be informed of your course and the dietary requirements of your guests, if any, once we have fixed the numbers taking part, two weeks before the event.
- No money exchanges hands – host couples set their own course menu and refreshments.
- We end the evening by all getting together in the Parish Hall for post-dinner drinks.
HOW WE MAKE THE NUMBERS WORK:
Once I receive 9 replies, I will send out a message to explain that we have reached the first cut-off number and hopefully, this will give those who may not yet have made up their mind an opportunity to ask to take part and allow us to reach the next cut-off of 12 couples. I will continue to do this until we reach the maximum of 18 couples.
Please note that should you reply after we reach a cut-off number, then you are not guaranteed a place until we reach the next cut-off of 12, 15, 18 couples, as appropriate. I will, of course, explain your place in the queue when you reply.
