SKDC Community Grant of £5000.00 awarded
The Parish Hall Management Committee have been in discussion for some time with a view to improving, and perhaps replacing the kitchen facilities in the Parish Hall.
After much debate, in February 2026, an application was made to SKDC in the hope of taking advantage of the SKDC Community Fund scheme which offers grants to voluntary and community groups, charities, and social enterprises for local projects and events that benefit residents.
It supports initiatives like community amenities, building improvements, and events, including those tackling loneliness.
The Management Committee believed this was a grant ideally suited for the purposes as set out by SKDC as it would support everything the hall currently offers to its residents.
Having made the application, we are pleased to announce that on Monday 2nd March 2026, SKDC kindly awarded the full amount of £5000.00 which will contribute greatly towards the complete replacement of the existing kitchen.
The next steps will be to engage with a kitchen supplier/installer over the next month or so where it is hoped that a fully replaced kitchen will be available before the end of August.
