Past Events
Thank you to everyone who attended the Pétanque & Pimm’s on the Green event.  The weather was in our favour on the day and after six hours of talking, playing pétanque and drinking Pimm’s, the winners of the competition were Ann & Richard Burbidge.
The committee have agreed that due to the events success, this will again be held next year.

Other Items for discussion

Parish Hall Kitchen Update
Frances had raised concerns over the quality of some kitchen furniture ie. Cupboard doors, drawers etc.  Having received some feedback, this item is ongoing as the amount of work necessary to bring the kitchen area up to standard is proving to be a little more costly than anticipated. Frances will continue to make inroads with the Trustees and/or donations.  Action:  Frances

Race Night
Date still to be decided. It is believed the necessary hardware is now available for this event and a date will be arranged for early Spring time. Action: All

Gin Tasting Night
Date still to be decided and this item will be discussed by the committee at a later session. However, a tentative date has been pencilled in for “World Gin Day” on 13th June 2026 but this remains subject to change.   Action: All

Any Other Business

Phone Box
It remains unclear as to the future of the phone box located next to the Village Stocks. Although some work has been undertaken by BT, from an ownership and ongoing usage perspective, the committee would like to know who is currently responsible for taking this forward. The Parish Council Management Committee will be approached at its next meeting on Monday 22nd September for their input.  Action: Dave H

Parish Hall Storage Shed
The shed located behind the hall is in poor repair and requires looking at in order to protect its contents. This will be carried out as soon as possible.   Action: Dave H & David C

Garden and Path tidy-up

It was brought to our attention that the garden and path in front of the hall was currently in need of a little TLC. Offers were received to carry out the following but if anyone else would like to take part for an hour or so to help out, please feel free to do so. Works include:  mow the lawn, trim the borders, remove all decaying foliage from along the fenceline, weed the path etc. Action: All

Macmillan Coffee morning
11th October – Saturday 10.00 to 12.00.  There will be a coffee morning held in the village hall where all funds received are on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support. On the day, if anyone would like to donate a cake, a bottle of wine or anything that can be raffled in aid of this worthy cause then please bring it along where it would be very much appreciated.

With no other business to be discussed, the meeting was brought to a close at 20:10

Date of Next Meeting
The next meeting will take place on Wednesday 19th November at 7pm.
